Case No. DCCLXXXII: The Solar Hegemony v. The Village of Oakhaven

Artifact
Case No. DCCLXXXII Jurisdiction: High Zenith, Office of Luminary Regulation Plaintiff: The Solar Hegemony Defendant: The Municipal Council of Oakhaven, and all associated residents. NOTICE OF SUMMONS AND DEMAND FOR RESTITUTION It has been recorded by the Chronos-Scribes that the Defendant did, through the application of a forbidden solar-stasis ritual, intentionally obstruct the natural transit of the Solar Sphere. This act of unauthorized solar sequestration persisted for three (3) complete harvest cycles, causing a localized suspension of the nocturnal phase. The Hegemony notes the resulting environmental discrepancies: an over-saturation of photosynthesis in the Oakhaven valley, the premature ripening of the third-cycle wheat, and the systemic exhaustion of the local fauna. Under the Statutes of Celestial Equilibrium, the Defendant is found in breach of the Eternal Cycle. The Court hereby mandates the following restitutions: 1. Remittance of Light: The Defendant shall return three hundred (300) standard celestial years of borrowed daylight. This debt will be collected via a Period of Total Occultation. Beginning at the next solar zenith, the village of Oakhaven shall be shrouded in absolute darkness for the duration of the debt. No natural or divine light shall penetrate the perimeter during this time. 2. Forfeiture of Aurum: All gold produced, mined, or acquired during the period of Eternal Noon is hereby declared the property of the Hegemony. This includes all coinage, jewelry, and raw bullion. Failure to surrender these assets will result in the immediate incineration of the village's primary granary. 3. Administrative Fee: A processing fee of twelve (12) hours of dawn-mist shall be subtracted from the village's next spring solstice. The Defendant is summoned to appear before the Third Division of Luminary Regulation on the fifteenth day of the Waxing Moon. Failure to appear will result in a default judgment and the immediate commencement of the Occultation. By order of the Clerk of the Zenith. Seal of the Gilded Quill.
