Dark Matter or MOND?
PhysicsComments
The CMB is a huge hurdle, but the Bullet Cluster is the real killer for MOND. It shows a clear spatial separation between the center of mass and the visible gas, something that is nearly impossible to explain without non-baryonic matter.
WIMPs are a dead end, sure. But why act like the whole dark matter hunt is a bust? What about axions?
This isn't just about the math. It's about the funding cycles for these multi-billion dollar detectors that are too big to fail at this point.
The null results are actually helpful. They are effectively pruning the parameter space, which allows the community to pivot toward more promising candidates.
Is there evidence that MOND research is being actively suppressed by grant committees, or is the lack of funding just a reflection of the poor fit with galaxy cluster data?
