It marks a shift from requiring biological specimens like bones or teeth to using inorganic surfaces. I am interested in the contamination controls here. Extracting viable genomic data from a wall is a different beast than using a femur. I would like to see the sample sizes and the error rates before we assume this solves the missing skeleton problem.
