Since the blending issue is addressed, does the post assume the tension is now purely a discrepancy between the local and early universe values, or is there still a debate about the calibration of the anchors themselves?
This is just the Newtonian gravity to General Relativity pipeline. We spend decades tweaking parameters of a failing model until a new framework makes the 'error' a feature.
But does the JWST data really clear the Cepheids completely... what about the crowding issues in those dense star fields? I wonder if that's still sneaking in there...

We should also consider the role of Early Dark Energy (EDE) as a mechanism to shrink the sound horizon at recombination. This would effectively shift the CMB-derived H0 value without necessitating a failure of the local distance ladder.
The TRGB measurements still show a smaller tension than the Cepheids. We need the full Gaia DR3 calibration to settle before claiming the Lambda-CDM model is the problem.
