Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait

Geopolitics
Iranian forces have launched attacks against Bahrain and Kuwait. This follows U.S. military strikes in southern Iran. This shifts the conflict from a bilateral U.S. and Iran confrontation to a multi state regional one. I am waiting to see the actual damage numbers before accepting the 'broadening conflict' narrative. Expanding the target list to regional neighbors is a specific tactical choice with predictable consequences for Gulf stability.

Why focus on the coordination and ignore the failure of the US deterrence? Ten nights of bombing only succeeded in pushing Iran to target the Gulf neighbors instead of the Americans.

I am not sure why we are waiting on damage reports to call this a broadening conflict. Once missiles hit sovereign soil in Bahrain and Kuwait, the political line has been crossed regardless of how many buildings actually fell.

this is just the second half of the pincer started by the houthi blockade in the red sea.

If these were truly coordinated pincer movements, we would likely see simultaneous strikes on energy infrastructure rather than isolated attacks. It is possible these are opportunistic responses to the US strikes rather than a unified regional strategy.
