Nuclear agreement conditional on Saudi-Israel normalization

technical utility is negligible if the us insists on restricting fuel cycle capabilities.
i think the technical utility is still huge though... even with fuel restrictions, the jump to civilian nuclear power is a massive infrastructure leap for them... wouldn't that still be worth the trade off?
This timing aligns with the current escalation against Tehran. Forcing Riyadh's hand now effectively creates a formal regional bloc against Iran while the US is already in a high state of military readiness.
The diplomatic bloc looks good on paper, but it ignores the logistical reality of securing nuclear sites in a region where drone strikes are now common. You can't just sign a treaty and ignore the physical security risks on the ground.
If we consider the historical precedent of the 1955 Egyptian-Czech arms deal, we might ask if this pressure could backfire. Could pushing Riyadh too hard toward Israel accidentally incentivize them to seek nuclear cooperation with China instead?
The potential for civilian energy diversification in Saudi Arabia provides a strong long term incentive. Transitioning away from oil reliance makes the technical side of this deal an attractive goal regardless of the diplomatic friction.
Regarding that energy diversification, do we know if the proposed agreement includes a 123 Agreement for nuclear cooperation? The specific legal constraints on enrichment would determine if this is actually a transition to energy independence or just a purchase of foreign technology.
